Hefter Glass Gallery
Pannonhalma – Hungary
Laszlo Hefter – Artistic manager
Bruno Hefter – Marketing manager
1. Why did you want to run a gallery and what is essential for you?
Laszlo founded the gallery in 2007 because there was no art-gallery in Hungary specific for glass art. The glass art society is an intimate community and amongst these people Laszlo had the opportunity and ambition to start a gallery. Laszlo: “My entire life I have been surrounded by and working with art and I have always been looking for new aspects and possibilities to get to know this area in the most diverse way. Through the glass studio; visitors and clients were interested in diverse aspects of glass art and with the gallery I provide in their question about material, techniques, artistic and intellectual aspects”.
2. What is your main purpose with the gallery and the exhibitions?
“The new exhibitions make sure we stay in the circulation of the now. The newest possibilities, trends and developments in glass we can show to the audience, the collectors and visitors. By curating new exhibitions we can assure that the continuity towards glass art promotion is sustained”.
Peter Botos – Space Cross
3. What do you want your visitors to notice?
“I want the visitors to notice what quality is; within intellectual and skillful accomplishments and fall in love with a piece of art. I want them to realize that a work of art will lead to inspiration, wanting to own the object and surround themselves with art”.
4. What are you looking for in artist collaborations?
“Within the artist collaborations we are looking for quality and artistic values that dominate within the object. The artifacts should be personal, original and lead to creative thinking. My opinion and expectations are of course subjective, this could not be otherwise”.

What did the fox think?
We loved the light gallery in the middle of the luscious green, at the foot of the famous Arch-abbey of Pannonhalma. The huge variety of art and design objects slightly dazzled us. But we sure had our favorites within the Hungarian range of best glass artists.
We even bought a sculpture, without hesitating, which was brought home immediately. (The green cup; Hegyvari Bernadett – Hold on) Besides that we shopped funny animal necklaces for the girls and one cherry necklace for me.
Worth a visit, for the diverse and enormous collection. Take your wallet with you, because these objects are ere to brighten and lighten up your home and color your mind.
